Darlene J. Murphy, age 73, of Cassville, MO, passed away on Sunday, June 25, 2017, at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, MO. Mrs. Murphy, daughter of Aurther & Wilma {Morn} Kloss, was born on September 26, 1943 in Milwaukee, WI. On May 25, 1963, she was united in marriage to Michael R. Murphy in New Berlin, WI; he preceded her in death on December 18, 1989. Mrs. Murphy worked many years in forestry while in Milwaukee and moved to Cassville in 1985 when she transferred to the Ranger Station and later retired after thirty years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Purdy, Cassville Hospital Auxiliary, and was very active in the Monett Toy Run. Mrs. Murphy loved to knit and make special things such as stuffed animals to be given to children at the hospital or sold in the hospital gift shop.
Survivors include one son, David Murphy and his wife Joann, of Verona; two daughters, Ginger Zielinski and her husband Kenneth, of Aurora, and Carolyn Murphy, of Cassville; eight grandchildren, Cody Zielinski, Alexander Murphy, LeaAnn Murphy, Destiny Anderson, Kashawna Murphy, Lakin Litchy, Keeton Murphy, and Lindsey Murphy; one great-granddaughter, Sydney Zielinski; one brother, Thomas Kloss and his wife Karen, of Appleton, WI; and one nephew, Mathew Kloss.
In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by one grandson, Robert J. Zielinski.
Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Judes Children’s Hospital and entrusted to the White Funeral Home and Crematory, P.O. Box 890, Cassville, MO 65625.
Funeral services were held on Friday, June 30, 2017, at the White Funeral Home and Crematory; burial followed at Oak Hill Cemetery in Cassville.
