Ellen Verna Short, age 67, passed away June 23, 2017. She was born July 3, 1949 in Highland Park, MI to Sebastian and Sally (Halel) DeFrank. Ellen married the love of her life, on July 6, 1968 at Holy Redeemer Church in Detroit, MI. Ellen was known for her sweet, kind spirit. She enjoyed crocheting, especially creating afghans to donate to veterans at the VA Hospital. Most importantly, she adored her family and enjoyed spending time with them. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Ellen will be missed by her husband, 2 children, sister, 2 aunts, 5 grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and cousins, also her dog, Nick. She is preceded in death by her parents, Sebastian "Red" and Sally (Halel) DeFrank, brothers, Mike DeFrank, Jerry DeFrank, many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Burial in Great Lakes National Cemetery.
