BOILING SPRINGS - Carl B. Wood, 86, died Friday, June 23, 2017, at Cleveland Pines Nursing Center.

A native of Dobson, he was the son of the late Carl and Madge Beamer Wood. He was a member of Flint Hill Baptist Church, and served two years in the Army.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Betty Hardy and her husband Richard Hardy; and brother, Wilson Wood.

He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Katherine Wood, of the home; son, Mark Wood and wife Leslie of Atlanta, Ga.; step-daughters, Debbie Smith and Donna Hambright, both of Boiling Springs; grandchildren, Shay and wife Ashley of Atlanta, Ga., John and wife Nikki of South Mountain, Dustin and wife Alexis of Lenoir, and Caitlin of Boiling Springs; and three great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, in the church and other times at the home.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. on Monday, June 26, 2017, at Flint Hill Baptist Church with Revs. Shane Kirby and Keith Dixon officiating.

Burial will follow in Cleveland Memorial Park with full military honors by the Marine Corp League.
