Susan Cary Landers-Irle-Fox, 70, of Beckley, WV went to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 17, 2017. Born in Lewisburg, WV on December 28, 1946 she was the daughter of the late Maynard "Mike" D. Landers (1912-1974) and Helen Irene Hayes-Landers (1915-1971).
Susan was a long time member of United Methodist Temple and Garden Club of Beckley. She was a volunteer at Raleigh General Hospital for 20 years. She enjoyed playing golf, bowling and most of all spending time with her husband, children and grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Susan is preceded in death by a son, Michael Ross Irle (1966-1967); her first husband Charles "Charlie" L. Irle (1943-1980) whom she married on November 26, 1965 in Lewisburg, Greenbrier County, WV (per WV Marriage License Register, Kanawha County, WV, 1965, Book 18, Page 409, Application Date: November 10, 1965); and her sister, Sally Landers-Goodall (Deceased).
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 34 years, David Fox; son, David Irle and wife Lora Irle of Cool Ridge; daughter, Wendy Leigh Irle and significant other Ryan Neal of Beckley; stepson, Michael David Fox and Sonya Fox of Denver CO; two step daughters, Angela Fox-Hopkins and husband Eric Hopkins of Princeton and Lori Fox and husband Sidney Shoaf of Salisbury, NC; brother, Mike Landers and wife Sarah Landers of Parkersburg; three grandchildren, Cara Leigh Irle, Haley Beth Shumate and Jake Isaac Shumate; eleven step grandchildren; six great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Friends may gather with the family Tuesday, June 20, 2017 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Blue Ridge Funeral Home, Beckley. Services will be held Wednesday, June 21, 2017 at 11:00 am at the funeral home with Pastor Sam Peterson officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, Beckley.
