He was a Navy veteran and retired from the Little Rock Police Department.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his aunt and uncle, Cecil (Chick) and Rose Rives; his daughter, Tracy Rives Chambers; his sister, Joan Woodell; and previous wife, Joy Lankford Rives.
He is survived by his wife, Karen Cashion Rives; son, Larry (Angela) Rives of Cane Hill, Ark.; his daughters, Shannan Rives of Little Rock, Jamie (Al) Dunaway of Deer Lodge, Tenn., Tamela (Curt) Taylor of Scranton, Ark.; his sisters, Jimmie Dot Thomas of Little Rock, and Rosalie McVay of Littlerock, Calif.; and his cousin, Sue Riggin of Little Rock. He also is survived by ten grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, June 27, at Pinecrest Funeral Home, 7401 Hwy 5 North, Alexander. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 28, at Pinecrest Memorial Park.
