Born on Jan. 21, 1924, in Weston, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Homer D. and Mamie Currence Lake.
She was in the Army Signal Corps in Washington, D.C., during World War II, where she met her husband, Frank who was serving in the Marine Corps. Ruby was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and a friend to all who knew her. She loved to cook for her family and enjoyed working in her garden.
Ruby was a great prayer warrior and her greatest desire was to make sure all her family made it to heaven. Ruby and her late husband, Frank were instrumental in starting the Hickory Church of the Nazarene in 1973.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Titus, two brothers, one sister and a son-in-law, Franc Alexander.
Survivors include her children, Cynthia Dawn Lang (Buddy) of Chesapeake, Ohio, Jewel Faye Alexander of Concord, Frank Duane Titus (Kathy) of Hudson, Cheryl Suzanne Setzer (Paul) of Hickory; 10 grandchildren, and a number of great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life service will be held Monday, June 26, at 1 p.m., at Catawba Funerals & Cremations with the Rev. David Shrum, Pastor of Bethel Wesleyan Church officiating. Burial will follow at Catawba Memorial Park. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12 to 1 p.m., at the funeral home.
