NEWPORT NEWS - Sandra "Sandy" Anne Hyle DeMass, 50, a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, died Saturday, April 9, 1994.

Mrs. DeMass was a homemaker who graduated in 1962 as an LPN from the St. Elizabeth Hospital School of Nursing, Utica, N.Y.

Survived by her husband, Levi "Lee" H. DeMass of Newport News; two daughters, Tamara A. Johnson of Richmond, Ky., and LeAnn M. Figg of Hampton; one son, Michael J. DeMass of Gloucester; her mother, Shirley M. Hyle of New York Mills, N.Y.; two sisters, Susan Houston of Daleville, Ala. and Barbara Hyle of New York Mills; three brothers, Kenneth Hyle Jr. of New York Mills, David Hyle of New Hartford, N.Y. and Gary Hyle of Rome, N.Y.; and four grandchildren.

Funeral Mass 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church by the Rev. Michael McCarron. Burial 10:00 a.m. Wednesday in Peninsula Memorial Park. Family will receive friends at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church 6:00-7:15 p.m. Tuesday.
