She was a 1968 graduate of Choctaw County High School and an active member of its band where she played the flute. She was also talented on the guitar and piano and was musically gifted with an excellent voice. She received her Master Degree in Special Education from Livingston University in 1986, and taught at various schools in Choctaw County before retiring after 35 years of service. She was a member of the Butler Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her parents G. N. Rhodes and Ruth Barrett Rhodes, and her sister, Freddie Rhodes White.
Survivors include two brothers, Barry Rhodes of Brandon, MS and Gil Rhodes of Orange Beach, AL, and a sister, Jane Talley, of Fairhope, AL.
Graveside service will be held Wednesday, June 28, 2017, at 11:00 a.m., at the Butler cemetery with Bumpers Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
The family will accept flowers or memorial contributions may be made to PAX Hospice, Madison, MS.
