Gerald “Dunk” Hobby, 64, of Fitzgerald, Georgia died Wednesday, November 5, 2008 at his residence.


Memorial services were held 4 P.M., Friday, November 7 at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dan Lovett officiating.


Mr. Hobby was born September 25, 1944 in Irwin County to the late Curtis Lee and Maredell Young Hobby. He lived in the community most of his life. Mr. Hobby was a route salesman for Coca-Cola for 20 years before working for Ross Of Georgia as a service truck operator, also for 20 years. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and was of the Baptist faith.


He is survived by his wife, Joyce A. Hobby of Fitzgerald; daughter and son-in-law, Janet H. & Glen Farmer of Cheyenne, WY; brothers and sisters-in-law, Jerry & Carolyn Hobby of Wray, Jimmy & Pat Hobby and Terry & Mary Hobby all of Fitzgerald; sister and brother-in-law, Paula & John Mitchell of Abbeville as well as several nieces and nephews. Paulk Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
