ANAHEIM CA – Constance Lee Adams 77 of Anaheim CA passed away June 21, 2017 at her home with her family by her side. She was born Constance Lee Grahlman at Marble Rock, Iowa, in 1939 to Alfred and Virginia Grahlman.
Connie's ashes will be placed at Forest Lawn Mortuary, in Cypress Ca. with a private family service July 21st, 2017. A Memorial Service will be held 11:00 July 22, 2017 at the Orangethorpe United Methodist Church, 2351 W. Orangethorpe Ave, Fullerton, CA. 92833.
Connie graduated from the Marble Rock High School in 1957 where she played basketball and the trombone in the high school concert, pep and swing bands. She was elected Band Queen for the North Iowa Band Festival. Connie was active in drama and had parts in the Junior and Senior Plays. During her summers, she worked for farm families as a hired girl.
After graduation Connie worked at a bank in Mason City, Iowa. She was united in marriage to Clark F. Adams in 1958 at the Bethel Baptist Church in Marble Rock. They settled in Southern California where they raised their family. Connie worked as office manager for a Life Insurance firm for many years.
Connie was an adventurer who enjoyed hiking, bicycling and traveling the world, and was able to achieve her dream of traveling on all seven continents. She loved to plan adventures for her family, planning vacations to Washington DC, Yellowstone National Park, and many more both near and far. She made it a point to see her grandchildren's activities as often as possible, traveling sometimes great distances to make sure that she was always involved. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, quilting and was always busy on a project. Connie was active in the United Methodist Church, and spent countless hours volunteering and serving in many different capacities throughout her life.
Connie is survived by her husband, Clark F. Adams and sons Steve (Linde) Adams, Ames, IA and Thomas Adams, Anaheim, and two grandchildren Megan Adams and Matt Adams, Ames, IA. She is also survived by two sisters, Beverly (Max) Handley, Marble Rock, IA; and Terry Boehlje, Ankeny, IA. Connie was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Jerry Green, Mason City, IA.
