Mr. Jimmy Doyle Bates, age 65 of Castalian Springs, TN, passed away Friday, June 23, 2017.
Funeral Services for Mr. Bates will be conducted on Monday, June 26, 2017 at 1:00 PM from Woodard Funeral Home with Bro. Patrick Eller officiating. Interment will follow in Bradley Cemetery.
The family will receive visitors on Sunday, June 25, 2017 from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM, and on Monday, June 26, 2017 from 10:00 AM until service time at 1:00 PM at Woodard Funeral Home.
Mr. Bates was preceded in death by his parents, John L. and Virginia Bennett Bates
Mr. Bates is survived by his:
Wife – Patricia Bates of Castalian Springs, TN.
Son – Shannon Bates (Laura) of Westmoreland, TN
Daughter – Melody Rueda of NC.
Son – Johnny (Lisa) Beasley of Castalian Springs, TN
Daughter - Reponzal Demumbra
Daughter – Michelle (Rick) Elkins
Grandchildren – 25
Great Grandchildren – 13

The Bates Family lost a wonderful man Friday.. A few short weeks ago, we learned that he had cancer. He prepared to fight this horrible disease so that he could enjoy retirement and spending time with those he loved. Unfortunately, he didn't get to do all of those things. We will miss camping, fishing, telling stories, and all of the laughs and wonderful times we shared. While we will miss him everyday, we rejoice that he has been healed and is in Heaven.
Mr. Bates was an employee at Oscar Meyer and Fiberweb. He enjoyed camping and fishing in his free time. He was a wonderful and loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother. He will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
