She was born in Bangor, December 10, 1965, daughter of Milton and Beverly (White) Thayer.
Lisa was a graduate of Bangor High School, class of 1984. She was employed as a manager of Piercing Pagoda, then assistant manager of the book store at Husson University, and finally at Beal College as retail service manager.
Lisa and her husband owned Go Calendars and Games at the Bangor Mall.
She enjoyed camping, fireworks, crafting, crocheting, shopping, decorating and especially loved spending time with her grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her parents.
Surviving are her husband, Stephen Porter of Glenburn; two daughters, Jessica Berberoglu and her husband, Hayri III of Brewer, Kristin Sands of Old Town, a son, Sean Porter and his wife Stephanie of Bangor; six grandchildren, Hailey Chapman, Hayri Berberoglu IV, Aiden Hall, Michael Engstrom, Taylor Sewall and Addison Porter; two sisters, Marion Rowe and her husband John of Hudson, Brenda Alward and her husband Allan of CT, nieces and nephews including a very special niece, Sheree Russell; aunts, uncles and cousins, including special cousins, David, Dana and Kenny White; her beloved dogs, Lucy and Odie.
Relatives and friends are invited to call 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, April 30, 2015 at the Hampden Gilpatrick Chapel of Brookings-Smith, 45 Western Av., Hampden, where a service in celebration of her life will be held 6 p.m. Friday, May, 1, 2015.
