Michele Davis died June 24 at the age of 70.

A visitation will be held Monday, June 26, from 5 to 7 pm at the Chapel of Osborn Funeral Home with a Rosary immediately following. A funeral Mass celebrating Michele's life will be held on Tuesday, June 27, at 10:30 am at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.

Michele was born on February 25, 1947, in Bridgeport, CT to Joseph Cyprien and Eleanor Elizabeth Whitten LeBlond. Her early childhood was spent on the east coast, followed by moves to Chicago, Oakland, and London. She began college at American University in Paris, then transferred to the University of Texas in Austin as a sophomore. The following summer, while taking courses at San Diego State University, she went on a blind date with her future husband of 50 years, John Bole Davis, III.

After staying home to start her family, Michele completed her Bachelor's degree at Louisiana State University in Shreveport and earned her CPA license. This began her 31-year career at the university, which gave her many rich experiences and deep friendships. A life-long student, Michele completed coursework at LSUS in the Master of Liberal Arts program and earned her Master of Science degree in nonprofit administration. In 2015, she retired as Assistant Director of Accounting after 20 years of service, but she continued to teach courses until her health prevented it.

She was an active volunteer and often treasurer of many charitable organizations, including Kiwanis Club of Southeast Shreveport, Society of St. Vincent de Paul, Just Faith, and Catholic Charities. Michele will be remembered with love for her indomitable determination, her devotion to her family, and her kind heart.

Michele was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Joseph Paul LeBlond.

She is survived by her husband; sons, Christopher Lee Davis (Emily Holt) and Jonathan Michael Davis (Elizabeth); her three grandchildren, whom she adored, Whitten Danforth, Anderson Hall, and Kathleen Michele Davis; as well as her sister, Patricia Marie LeBlond DiMaio (Nick).

Serving as pallbearers are Bill Armstrong, James Beadles, Mike Ferrell, James Hollier, Jay McGee, Daniel Miller, Sam Reno, Steve Sumner. Honorary pallbearers are her dear friends from her Pokeno group and her Kiwanis club.

Suggested memorials: Catholic Charities, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Society of St. Vincent de Paul
