Charlotte Frances (Ezell) (Dill) Miles was born on April 16, 1919 in Decatur, Alabama, the daughter of James "Pettey" Ezell (1885-1934) and his wife Alice "Dawn" (Potter) Ezell (1889-1976).

She attended Murfreesboro's Crichlow Elementary School, Central High School and State Teacher's College.

Charlotte was married 1st about 1942 to Dr Jesse "Madison" Dill (1917-2000). She was married 2nd {for 5 years} to Dr Robert M Miles.

Very active in civic involvements, she was a past Regent and Life Member of Oakland's Historic House Museum, a member of Murfreesboro Woman's Club, Murfreesboro Charity Circle, Friends of Linebaugh Library, chairperson of the Murfreesboro City Beautification Commission, past member of the Craddock Study Club, past President of the Auxiliary to the Tennessee Optometric Association, and of the Auxiliary to the southern Council of Optometry. And, she was a former member of the Nashville Symphony Regional Council, served on the founding board of Crime Stoppers of Murfreesboro and Rutherford County, the Murfreesboro Symphony Guild and the Structure committee for the Cumberland Valley Girl Scout Council and served as a tutor in the Rutherford County Literacy Program. She also served on the Meals on Wheels Program at her church since its inception until her move to Richmond. She had been a member of the Cedar Creek Yacht Club and the Nashville Yacht Club.

As of December, 2007, she was a resident of Lakewood Manor in Richmond, Virginia where she cherished her new friends and enjoyed the coffee club and bridge clubs. She was also a long-time member of the North Blvd Church of Christ in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, and later was a member of Three Chopt Church of Christ in Richmond, Virginia.

A resident of Richmond, Charlotte was 98 years old when she passed away on June 22, 2017.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her 1st husband; daughter Charlotte Ezell Dill (1943-2003); brothers Frederick Wallace Ezell (1916-1976) and Dr Kenneth Pettey Ezell (1913-1995); sister Elizabeth (Ezell) Prahl (1911-2005) and by her 2nd husband. Survivors included a married daughter and many special nieces and nephews.

Graveside Services were in Evergreen Cemetery in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.
