Born in Clinton, he was a son of the late James "Skinny" and Wilma Coker Coleman. Retired from Torrington after 30 years, he was a member of Community Baptist Church. Ransom was a loving, caring man who loved his family.
He is survived by: his children, Jay Coleman and wife Leslie of Gray Court, Rusty Coleman and wife Rachel of Charleston, SC, and Mandy Kimberlin and husband Patrick of Clinton; a brother, Walter Coleman and wife Mary of Clinton; sisters, Gloria Patton and husband Steve of Greenville and Ann Edwards and husband Oscar of Clinton; grandchildren, Autumn, Nicholas, Katelyn, Ashlee, Brandon, Ethan, Jonah, and Cadence; and great grandchildren, Connor, Cameron, and Ryleigh.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm, Tuesday, June 27, 2017, at Community Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Chris Sullivan with burial in Rosemont Cemetery in Clinton.
The family will be at the home and will receive friends at The Kennedy Mortuary on Monday, June 26, 2017, from 7:00 to 9:00 PM.
