Dorothy Morris, 90, died June 18, 2017 at West Ridge Care Center in Cedar Rapids, following an extended illness.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 AM, Friday, June 23, 2017 at Oak Grove Church near Shellsburg with Pastor Bill Holley and Dave Upah officiating. Interment will be held at Shiloh Cemetery in Hiawatha. Visitation will be held at Phillips Funeral Home in Vinton, 212 E. 6th St. from 4 to 7 PM on Thursday. A memorial fund has been established.

Dorothy was born April 15, 1927 at State Center to Arthur and Bertha (Probst) Ficken.

On June 15, 1948 she was united in Marriage to Paul Morris in Melbourne. He preceded her in death on March 13, 2005.

Dorothy had been employed at Collins Radio in Cedar Rapids and was a self employed seamstress.

She was a long-time member of Oak Grove Church, had served as a 4-H Leader and was a former member of the Farm Bureau Ladies.

She is survived by her children, Paulette Willey of Shellsburg, John (Nan) Morris of Del City, OK, and Joseph Morris of Bakersfield, CA; her grandchildren, Jennifer Musial, Joshua (Amanda) Morris, and Jessica (Lucas) Potter; eight great-grandchildren; and her brothers, Ervin (Anna) Ficken, and Ralph (Wilma) Ficken.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers, two sisters, and a great granddaughter.
