Obituary for William "Bill" Hogue
William "Bill" Hogue, 67, of Chariton passed away June 22, 2017. A celebration of life gathering will be held June 27, 2017 from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at the Pierschbacher Funeral Home in Chariton. Memorials may be made in his memory to the Blank Children's Hospital.

William John Hogue was born September 23, 1949 in Chariton, Iowa to John Vern and Aileen Vera Perkins Hogue. He graduated from Chariton High School in 1968. He entered the U.S. Army 1969 and served until 1972 during Vietnam. After the service he worked in Des Moines manufacturing culverts for 10 years. He then worked for United Methodist in Housekeeping for 15 years, and at Care Initiatives in Knoxville for 5 years.

He was married to Caroline Brown on May 30, 1980. They were blessed with two daughters: Laura Louise and Jean Aileen. Bill loved to ride motorcycles and to go camping at state parks throughout Iowa. He loved to read and particularly enjoyed Westerns and Stephen King mysteries.

Surviving is his wife, Caroline Jean Hogue of Chariton, daughters: Laura Louise (Ted) Jasper of Des Moines and Jean Aileen Hogue of Des Moines; 7 grandchildren: Heather (Josh) Freeman, Austin Christensen, Chelsey Jasper, Eric Thorup, Brandon Thorup, Izzy Thorup, and Ethan Hogue; and 2 great grandchildren: Shawn Freeman and Chase Freeman.
