Mrs. ARDELLA (GARRETT PHILLIPS) BETTIS was the daughter of William Frazier Garrett Sr. and Mrs. Nora (Williams) Garrett.

On March 10, 1914, she married Earlie Bettis who was the son of Henry Bettis and Mrs. Emily Bettis.

"Saturday Burial ---
Funeral services for Mrs. Ardella Bettis of Route 1, Karnack, are set for 2 p.m. Saturday at Pleasant Hill Methodist Church. The body is at Lewis Funeral Home. The Rev. T.J. Collins is to officiate with burial at Pleasant Hill Cemetery.

She died Monday at Memorial Hospital. She was a native of Harrison County, a member of the Heroines of Jericho and Pleasant Hill Methodist Church.

Surviving are her husband, Earlie Bettis, Karnack; three brothers, L.T. Garrett and Will Garrett, both of Marshall, and Aaron Garrett, of Houston; three sisters, Mrs. Juanita Atchison, of Mount Pleasant, Mrs. Norma Lee Houston, of Oakland, California, and Mrs. Dearie Lincorn, of Dallas."

Upon her passing, she was laid to rest on December 12, 1964 on the grounds of Pleasant Hill Cemetery near Karnack, Texas.

Eddie Richardson and the funeral directors with Lewis Funeral Home directed the funeral services and managed the burial arrangements.
