July 25, 1934 Army Ft. H.G. Wright (Fishers Island) New York until July 1937. Served 1938 1st Armored Division Ft. Knox, Kentucky until December 8, 1940. Re-enlisted 1942 Aviation Cadet training program (USAAF). As a 2nd Lieutenant, he became a POW in 1944 as the co-polit of a B-17 during a raid over Regensburg, Gemamy, with the 15 AF 99th Bomb Gp. 347 Bomb Sq. He was a member with the Air Force Reserve until his retirement June 25, 1978 with the rank of Major. Memorial marker placed at Oak Hill Memorial​ Park, Kingsport, Sullivan County, Tennessee.
