TWIN FALLS - James W. Bennett, 79, former Twin Falls and Jerome resident, died early Monday at the Veterans Hospital, Boise, after a long illness.
Born Sept. 5, 1894, at Bloomington, Iowa, he came to Idaho in 1911 from Nebraska, farming in the Buhl and Twin Falls areas. He worked in a lumber camp in Oregon for a time and then lived at Jerome for several years.
A veteran of World War I, he served in the US Army, and was a former member of the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He had been disabled for almost 20 years.
Survivors include; one brother, J. R. Bennett, Filer; one sister, Mrs. Carrie Modlin, Twin Falls; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at White Mortuary Chapel by Rev. Herbert Morris. Military rites will be in Sunset Memorial Park by the Idaho National Guard.
