Roger W. Hawkins, 71, passed away June 21, 2017 at the Humboldt Care Center North.

A visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Monday, June 26, 2017 at the Mason-Lindhart Funeral Home in Humboldt.

Roger William Hawkins, the son of Marion “Mike” and Marvelle (Smith) Hawkins, was born November 20, 1945 at Humboldt, Iowa. He lived in the Humboldt and Dakota City area most of his life where he participated in local sporting events.

He was married in 1966 and two sons were born to this union. The marriage was later dissolved.

Roger worked for Sande Construction, Marso Excavation and Hawkeye Leisure Trailer in Humboldt. He moved to Tucson, AZ for a time where he received training as a phlebotomist and worked at an area hospital. In 2000, he returned to Fort Dodge and was employed at Iowa Central Community College for 3 years until his retirement.
Roger loved to hunt and fish, play cards and visit with friends. He will be remembered and missed by his family and friends.

Roger is survived by his sister, Marilyn Knutson of Graettinger; brothers, Mike of Emporia, KS, Gary of Fort Dodge and Ron of Humboldt.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mike and Marvelle Hawkins; brother, Floyd; and sister, Marcia.
