Doris “Snooky” Elizabeth (Tarpley) McMillian, 77, of Summerville, widow of Donald Ray McMillian, Sr. passed away on Wednesday June 21, 2017 at Johns Island Rehabilitation and Health Center.
Friends and family are invited to attend her graveside service on Monday, June 26, 2017 at 11 o’clock AM at Live Oak Memorial Gardens, 3093 Ashley River Rd, Charleston, SC 29414.
Snooky was born on July 6, 1939 in Charleston, SC daughter of the late Robert Lee Tarpley and Genette Doris (McManus) Tarpley. She enjoyed cross stitching and doing puzzles. She was of the Baptist faith.
Surviving are: three children: Renae McMillian, Mira Janssen (Kevin Gissell) and Ray McMillian, Jr. (Candace Austin); nine grandchildren: Ashleigh McMillian, Chad Kessing, Jr., Brandon Kessing, Hallie Gissell Limehouse, Leila Gissell, McKaylin Riggins, Hunter Riggins, Madison Rosell & Jordan McMillian; five great grandchildren: Benjamin Kessing, Lilliana Limehouse, Jordan Riley McMillian, Maddiux James & Ryder James; one sister: Ruth McKevlin two brother: Richard Tarpley and Carlos Tarpley; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Millie Knight and her brother, Bobby Tarpley.
