Ronald David Darby, Sr., 62, of Ironton, passed away Wednesday, June 21, 2017 at his residence. The Ashland, KY native was born March 28, 1955, a son of the late Roy F. and Alberta Faye Stapleton Darby. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Elizabeth "Beth" Compston Darby.
Mr. Darby was a 1975 graduate of Coal Grove High School and a former carman at the CSX Railroad, retiring in 2000 after 23 years of service. He was an avid fisherman and a mechanic.

three sons: Ronald David (Lori) Darby Jr. of Ludowici, GA, Billy Joe Darby of Marion, OH,and Travis Darby of Bloomingdale, GA
a daughter-in-law Jesse Darby of Ironton

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Monday, June 26, 2017 at Phillips Funeral Home, 1004 South Seventh Street, Ironton, Ohio with the Rev. Mike O'Bryant officiating. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery and visitation will be Monday from 11:00 AM until the time of the service at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made in Ron's name to the OSU James Cancer Center, 460 W 10th Ave., Columbus, OH 43210.
