James Franklin Penny, Jr., 87, of Camp Hill died on Wednesday June 21, 2017 at Holy Spirit Hospital. Born on September 29, 1929 in Harrisburg Hospital, he was the son of the late James F. and Esther Shuman Penny.

Jim graduated from Enola High School and then went on to receive his degree in Commerce and Finance from the Pennsylvania State University. He was the former owner/operator of Three Gables Truck Stop in Camp Hill and the Twin Gables Truck Stop in Carlisle. He started in business with his father, their original truck stop being on Cameron Street in Harrisburg. He was a loyal and faithful Penn State Fan with season tickets and a lifelong member of the Nittany Lion Club. Jim was also a charter member of the original West Shore Investment Club, a member of the Reciprocity Club, a member of the West Shore Country Club for over fifty years, and a member of Perry Lodge Number 458 in Marysville. He is a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Camp Hill.

Most importantly, he was a loving husband to his wife Linda Bowman Penny of 47 years and a caring and generous father to his two sons, James Franklin Penny, III and Timothy Ross Penny both of Camp Hill, all of whom survive him.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday June 27, 2017 in Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 2000 Chestnut St., Camp Hill, with Pastor Jack Horner officiating. A visitation will be held in the church on Tuesday from 12:30 P.M. until the time of the service. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family in Rolling Green Cemetery, Camp Hill. Myers-Harner Funeral & Cremation Services, Camp Hill, have been entrusted with funeral arrangements.
