Eddie Roe Alexander, 81, went to be with his Lord and Savior Wednesday, June 21, 2017.

Visitation is from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, June 23, 2017, at Shaffer Funeral Home with family present from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Funeral service is at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 24, 2017, at Central Baptist Church with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home.

Eddie was born Sept. 20, 1935, to Monroe and Martha Alexander in Bronte, Texas, where he lived for most of his life. He graduated from Bronte High School in 1954 and attended Angelo College. He was married to Earlene Caffey and father one son, Wayne Alexander.

Eddie was a lifelong resident of Bronte and was a member of Central Baptist Church where he was a longtime deacon and treasurer. He worked for the Bronte Enterprise for most of his life. After retiring from the Enterprise, he and Earlene bought Margaret's Flowers and Gifts in Bronte, which they ran and owned from 1974 to 2003. Eddie was a member of the Bronte Jaycee's and Lion's Club. He was on the Bronte Nursing Home board of directors and was instrumental in the building addition to the nursing home. He was also a founding member of the Singing Winds Golf Course in Bronte. Eddie coached Little League baseball and was a longtime Texas Ranger's fan. In 2009, he moved to Robert Lee and then back to Bronte in 2015.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Earlene (Caffey) Alexander; brother Norman Alexander; and sisters Juanita Fay Alexander, Mary Webster, Doris Conley and Monte Sanker.

Eddie is survived by his son, Wayne Alexander and wife Beverly, of Robert Lee; brothers J.L. Alexander of Bronte and Bill Alexander of Whitesboro; grandchildren Jennifer Alexander of Bedford, Joshua Alexander and wife Rebecca of Robert Lee and Jaden Granada and husband Joshua of Keller; and great-grandsons Ty Alexander of San Angelo, Bracken Robertson and Creed Alexander of Robert Lee.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Southwest Parkinson's Society or The American Parkinson Disease Association.
