Mrs. Dora Herring Moore, 90, of Redwine Church Road, Canon, passed away Thursday, June 22, 2017 at Hart Care Center.
Born on May 19, 1927 in Hartwell, GA, she was the daughter of the late J.C. Herring and Effie Feltman Herring. Mrs. Moore was a retired seamstress with Oxford Mfg. and a member of the Liberty Baptist Church.
Survivors include one son: Jeffery Moore of Canon; two daughters: Patricia Grooters of Grand Rapids MI and Harriett Hicks of Hartwell; three sisters: Betty Stone of Hartwell, Lill Wilson of Starr, SC and Barbara Jones of Hartwell; five grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren also survive.
Mrs. Moore was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: T.M. Moore; one son: Jimmy Wayne Moore; three brothers: Thomas Herring, J.L. Herring and Sammy Herring and one sister: Daisy Reed.
Funeral services will be Saturday, June 24, 2017, at 4:00 pm in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Rev. Doug Brown officiating. Burial will be in the Nancy Hart Memorial Park.
The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell, where the family will receive friends from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. Saturday prior to the service. The family is at their respective homes.
