He was an English hymnodist and clergyman who composed about sixty hymns. He is most famous for "All Creatures of Our God and King", his translation of "Canticle of the Sun" by Francis of Assisi.
Draper firstly married Charlotte Edith Denman, daughter of the High Court judge and Liberal politician Rt Hon George Denman and Charlotte Hope, in 1883. She died in 1884, shortly after childbirth.
He then married secondly Emilie Augusta FitzHerbert Wright daughter of FitzHerbert Wright and Charlotte Rudolphine Louise von Beckman 1889, who died in 1913.

He married thridly Silvia Mary Richards, daughter of the Rev. G. C. Richards who was then Canon of Durham and Professor of Greek and Classical Literature in the University of Durham.
In addition to losing two wives, several of Draper's children predeceased him.
One daughter, Angela Lucy, died in February 1903 in unknown circumstances, and his sons
2nd Lt Mark Denman Draper and
Capt Roger Francis Draper died in the First World War.
He was ordained as a minister in 1880.
He authored numerous hymns that are still used in Christian churches to the day. He also translated hymns in 1926 he translated "All Creatures of Our God and King one written by Francis of Assisi in 1225.
