She graduated from Cass City High School with the Class of 1980, and later attended Baker College in Bad Axe where she earned her Associates Degree in Business. Tammy worked for many years at Walbro in Caro as a production operator. She loved time spent with family and attending sporting events for her grandchildren.
She also enjoyed playing Bingo, visiting casinos, and was the first woman to win a demolition derby in Caro. Tammy also had a special place in her heart for her cats. She spent the last year of her life traveling and making memories with her family.
Left to cherish Tammy’s memory are two children, Debra Sizemore (Ryan Bennett) of Caro, Rob (Carli) Carpenter of Fairgrove, and a recently reunited daughter, Mindy (Elwin) Holmes of Flushing; eleven grandchildren, Ethan, Zach, Blake, Rylan, Logan, Paige, Anthony, Abrianna, Ava, Anna and Jet; her father, Earl Schember of Cass City; three siblings, Larry (Lois) Schember of Auburn, Peggy McKnight of Cass City, Lonnie (Christina) Schember of Cass City; special caregivers, Hope & Chad Reynolds of Caro; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her mother, Tammy was preceded in death by her brother, Douglas Schember; and niece, Somre Schember.
Funeral services were held on Friday, June 23, 2017 at the Mizpah Missionary Church in Cass City with Rev. Dale Bullock officiating. Burial followed at a later time at Colfax Township Cemetery in Bad Axe.
