Johnny Cunningham was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma on July 24, 1964 and went home to be with Jesus on June 21, 2017. Johnny was born to parents Beatrice Bales, Garland Gordon and Joe Cunningham. He was raised in West Tulsa and lived there most of his life. Johnny loved his family and enjoyed being with them. He loved to take pictures and videos of family events, cook-outs and holiday dinners. Johnny loved his Dr. Pepper and Hershey Bars and watching WWE wrestling on Monday nights (which was the only time he would stay up until 10:00 pm). He loved his country music and enjoyed his trip to Nashville, Tennessee on his 50th birthday. Johnny loved going to church at First Assembly of God in Collinsville and he enjoyed his pastor and church family. He is survived by sisters, Karan Copenhaver and husband, Walter of Collinsville, Sheala Mooney and husband, Richard of Prettywater, Kathy Garufi and husband, Quinto of Belle Chase, LA, Connie Broughton and husband, Donnie of Tulsa, Dorothy Sparks of Tulsa, Patricia McWilliams of Tulsa and DeAnna Hudon of Springfield, Mo; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. Johnny was preceded in death by his parents, Beatrice Bales, Garland Gordon and Joe Cunningham; nephews, Donald Broughton and Joseph Mooney; grandparents, Emmer and John Bales; and several aunts and uncles. A celebration of Johnny's life is scheduled for 1:00 pm, Monday, June 26, 2017 at the Frist Assembly of God Church in Collinsville. A graveside committal service will follow in Floral Haven Memorial Gardens in Broken Arrow. Arrangements are under the direction of Heath-Griffith Funeral Home.
