Otis Phoenix, 70, of Springfield, died Saturday at St. John's Hospital. A lifelong city resident, he was born the son of James and Bitha Andrews Phoenix. He was preceded in death by his wife, Effie, in 1958.
He is survived by one son, Robert Phoenix of Buffalo; two stepsons, Archie Holzkamper of Bridgeport and Carl Holzkamper of Springfield; two brothers, John B. Phoenix of East St. Louis and Samuel C. Phoenix of Chicago; one sister, Mrs. Myra Ohl of Springfield; nine grandchildren.
Services at Bisch Memorial Home. Burial in Oak Ridge Cemetery.
