Virginia Mae Hubbard Odom, 87, passed away Saturday, June 17, 2017, at a local healthcare facility in Virginia Beach. She is now with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, her husband and others that have gone before her. From 1945 to the early eighties she worked for the former grocery store chain Colonial Stores, Inc. She lived in Norfolk and in retirement moved to Virginia Beach.

She was predeceased by her parents, Julius L. Jr. and N. Marie Flythe Hubbard; her husband of 61 years Marion A. Odom; and brother, J. Lane Hubbard III.

Virginia and Marion for decades were active members of Miles Memorial United Methodist Church in Norfolk, VA.

She is survived by her nephew and niece, Walter and Cheryl Hubbard; sister-in-law, Pat Hubbard; great niece, Christine Hubbard; great nephews, Ryan Hubbard and Nathan Boudreaux; several cousins; other extended family and the daughter she never had—Beverly Covey Hubbard.

Deep appreciation goes to faithful longtime friends Robert and Ruth LeMay along with Annette Parker and Christina Beth Parker for loving help in time of need and to the caring staff of Bayside Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.

A graveside service will be at Rosewood Memorial Park Cemetery at 631 N. Witchduck Road, Virginia Beach on Friday, June 23, 2017, at 10 am, officiated by Rev. Denny Hollowell. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home and Crematory, Bayside Chapel is handling arrangements.
