Walter Burmahln Passes Away in California
Mr. and Mrs. John Burmahln had the sad news of the death of the former's
brother, Walter Burmahln of San Markus, California. Death came Sunday
morning at a hospital, following an operation. Burial took place at San
Markus Tuesday afternoon.
Mr. Burmahln was born near Kiel on the Burmahln homestead north of here
July 24, 1883. He left here in 1901 for California. He had returned to
Kiel for various visits during the years past.
His wife and one son preceded him in death. Survivors are: a son Carl,
and daughter Betty; two sisters, Mrs. Emily Lueloff, Kiel, and Mrs.
Elfrieda Gruhle, Manitowoc, and three brothers, John on the homestead
farm, Clarence of San Jose, California, and Elmer of Lynchburg, Virginia.
