Shelby Jean Sain Fox, 75, of Morganton, passed away at her residence on Saturday, June 17, 2017, following a period of declining health.
Shelby was born November 8, 1941, in Burke County, to the late Conley Hardin Sain and Margaret Louise Sain.
In her spare time she loved to read, crochet, cross stitch, and spend time with her dogs and grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her first husband, Julius Roy Brown II.
Survivors include her children Judy Brown Johnson, Julius Roy Brown III, Angela Brown Saunders, Randolph Christopher Brown, Thomas Conley Fox and son Thomas Ervin Fox; brother, Jimmy Sain; sister, Olivia Carswell; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Burke Hospice and Palliative Care, 1721 Enon Rd. Valdese, NC 28690.
