Robert Freeman who passed away in Santa Cruz on February 27, 2013 at the age of 67. Born in Watsonville, California, Mr. Freeman was a talented athlete and an All Star quarterback for Gavilan College. Robert received his A.S. Degree in business while at Gavilan, and then began a career in management with P.G. E that spanned over 39 years. An active member of Twin Lakes Church Community, he loved his church and will be missed by many dear friends of his church family there. He was an accomplished sailor and the proud owner of three sailboats. He retired to Aptos, living at the beach, where he loved taking long walks and enjoyed golfing. Robert is survived by his mother, Mary Virginia Freeman, his daughter and son in-law, Kathryn Freeman and Mike Racek; his brothers and sisters in-law, Jim and Rosi Freeman; Mark and Catherine Freeman; his brother Matthew Freeman, and his sister and brother-in law, Diana and Ray Alcini. He also leaves his nephews, Ray Alcini Jr., Dino Alcini, and his niece Samantha Freeman. He was preceded in death by his father,
Robert Louis Freeman in 2004.
Friends may pay their respects today (March 1, 2013) at Benito and Azzaro Pacific Gardens Chapel from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. The funeral service will be on Saturday March 2, 2013 at Twin Lakes Church, 2701 Cabrillo College Drive in Aptos, beginning at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow at Santa Cruz Memorial Park.
