Norma Jean Coles Montgomery

85, of Indianapolis, passed away on June 18, 2017. She was born on December 12, 1931 to the late Jesse Coles and Ruth Turner. Norma Jean and her husband James K. Montgomery, known as "Smokey", owned Indy Machine Company, Inc. for 32 years retiring in 2001. Previously they owned Montgomery Machine for nine years, selling the company in 1969. She was a member in the Indianapolis Norma Jean Club, and most importantly she was a member of the Body of Christ. In her spare time Norma Jean enjoyed watching sports, especially her children and grandchildren playing baseball, basketball, tennis and running.

Norma Jean is survived by her children James Steven Montgomery, Terry Kenneth Montgomery, Jessica Montgomery Bau (Jimmy); grandchildren Amber, Austin, Ashley, Stephanie, Josh, Brittanie, Camille, Chastin; great-grandchildren Ella, Kinsley, Harper, Lillie, Jaxson, Joseph, Peyton, Eva; sister-in-law Carolyn Montgomery; brother-in-law Harold Montgomery and several nieces, nephews and cousins in Indiana, Kentucky, and Tennessee.

She is preceded in passing by her husband; parents; great-grandson Mason; siblings Archie Shannon (Dorothy), Erlene Hill (Russell); mother-in-law Beulah Buttrum, father-in-law James W. Montgomery; brother and sister-in-law's Nancy Montgomery, Dee Montgomery (Gloria) Rex Humphrey (Zenobia), Dick Humphrey (Mattie Nell), Wendell Montgomery (Roberta), Ralph Montgomery, Raymond Montgomery, Pauline Martin and Irene Berke (Ed).

Services will be 3:00 p.m. Friday, June 23, 2017 at Singleton Community Mortuary and Memorial Center. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until the hour of service at the mortuary. Graveside burial will follow at 2:00 p.m. (central time) Saturday, June 24, 2017 to Bucksville Cemetery in Auburn, Kentucky.
