Betty Ruth Wallace-Waid, 86, of Hueytown, passed away Friday, June 24, 2022, at Ridgeview Health Care. There will be a graveside service Sunday, July 3, 2022, at 1:30 p.m., at Flatwoods Community Cemetery in Berry, Truman Wallace will officiate.

Betty Ruth Waid was born on November 6, 1935, to Richard and Nola Wallace. She graduated Berry High School with honors and graduated from Birmingham Southern College as well. She married Bruce Waid on October 2, 1954, and had 3 children. She served on Midfield Board of Education for over a decade and was chairman several times. She opened her own business, Storyland Kindergarten. She won "The National Teacher" award twice and is in their almanac. She was Baptized August 1974 at Fairfield Church of Christ as a born again Christian of Jesus Christ.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Bruce Waid; her parents, Richard and Nola Wallace; brothers, Carl C. Wallace and Donald Wallace; grandparents, Mac and Mary Wallace, Bob and Timey Gurganis; in laws, Ben and Alice Waid.
