Ernest Levi Curtis was the first son of Grant Curtis and Birdie Hart. He was born in Stuart, Holt County, Nebraska. The family moved to Spearfish, Lawrence County, South Dakota in 1904. Ernie married Mary Burr on Feb 19, 1934 at Custer County, South Dakota. Ernie's father and his mother, who had remarried, and the majority of his siblings later moved to California where Ernie passed away in 1997. Burial place unknown.
