Julie Ilene Walton, 27, of Indianola, died Saturday. She was born April 9, 1965 in Tripoli, Libya [sic] to Donald M. and Rena I. Meehan Walton. She graduated in 1983 from George West High School in George West, Texas. She moved to McAlester with her parents in 1985 and was employed at the Internal Revenue Service and the Soil Conservation Service in McAlester. She was currently the administrative assistant for the American Sods Farm in Indianola which is owned by her family. She was of the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by her father on June 21, 1985 and her maternal grandparents and her paternal grandfather. Survivors include her mother, Rena Walton of Indianola; two brothers, Donnie Walton of Indianola and Steve Walton of Crockett, Texas; a sister, Debbie Folks of Wharton, Texas; paternal grandmother, Margaret Hersh of Kansas City, Mo.; three nieces; a nephew; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. Funeral services will be Tuesday 2 p.m. at Indianola First Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Riddle and Rev. Tim Dotson officiating. Interment will be in the Indianola Cemetery under the direction of Bishop Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Doug Meehan, Wade Meehan, Kelley Walton, Steve Walton, Jim Folks, and Mark Thomas. Honorary pallbearers will be Buddy Thomas, Max McNabb, Wes Jones, Don Hass, Fred Lawson, Roger Wilson and Chuck Goodson.
