Kathleen "Kathy" Carpenter Downs of Bellingham died Saturday, Jan 23, 1993 at St. Joseph Hospital Main Campus. She was 42.
Visitation will be held from 8:30 am to 5 pm Tuesday at Westford Funeral Home. A Christian prayer service will be held at 7 pm Tuesday at Assumption Church. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 am Wednesday at Assumption Church with the Rev. Jim Lee officiating.
Mrs. Downs was born Aug 21, 1950, in Bellingham to Robert and Ethel Carpenter. She graduated in 1968 from Bellingham High School, where she was a Roeder Rooter, a cheerleader and active in drama. She attended Cascade Business College, Whatcom Community College and was a licensed Realtor.
She was a member of Assumption Church and was past president of the Bellingham Jaycee Auxiliary. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, camping and family picnics.
Preceding her in death was her father, Robert J. Carpenter in 1982.
Survivors include her husband Arthur E. Downs of Bellingham; daughters Karolyn "Karie" Heath of Bellingham and Elizabeth Downs of Bellingham; son Arthur E. Downs Jr. of Bellingham; her mother Ethel Carpenter of Bellingham; brothers Dean Carpenter and Mark Carpenter, both of Bellingham; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Memorials may be made in her name to U.S. Bank.
