The first rubber tire manufactured at Dominion Tire in Berlin (now Kitchener) was built on January 6, 1914. 22 year-old Oscar Totzke was credited with making the tire endash plain tread, all white, 30 inch diameter. It took about an hour for Oscar to complete the tire. Dominion Tire would eventually become part of the Uniroyal Goodrich Tire Company.
