On December 27, 1951 in Piggott, AR, he was united in marriage to Virginia McDaniel, who survives of the home.
Bud graduated from Bunker High School in 1950. He enjoyed showing and training Foxtrotting horses and coon hunting. Bud was the milkman for 27 years and delivered propane for 12 years in Salem and surrounding areas. He was a member of New Home Baptist Church for 32 years.
Besides his wife, he is survived by three children, Sherry Broyles of Sedalia, MO, Sandy Brinkley of Salem, and Scott (Cheryl) Bowen of Springfield, MO; one sister, Loretta Lanham of Bunker; two brothers, Richard Bowen of Salem, KY and Joe Bowen of Salem, MO; eight grandchildren, Jennifer Peacock, Sarah Rea, Stephanie Cook, Kendra Brinkley, Tully, Jesse, Haley and Taylor Bowen; nine great grandchildren, Trevor, Ashlyn, Jack, Dalton, Grant, Baylor, Coda, Lawson and Addison.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Dwight Bowen; two sisters, Rae Jean Thompson and Shirley Bowen; and son-in-law, Mike Brinkley.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm, Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at Salem Chapel of the James and Gahr Mortuary.
Family will receive friends beginning at 11:00 am, prior to service.
Burial will be at Cedar Grove Cemetery, Salem, MO.
Pallbearers will be Brock Cook, Jared Patterson, Trevor Rialti, Jack Peacock, Dalton Cook, Baylor and Lawson Petty.
Honorary bearers will be Tully, Jesse and Taylor Bowen and Grant Peacock.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the New Home Baptist Church Building Fund, in care of James and Gahr Mortuary, Salem.
