Bernard KEIRNS, age 100 of Burton, MI, passed away Sunday, June 18, 2017. Bernard was born in Gladwin, MI on March 1, 1917, son of the late Charles and Dottie (Blank) Keirns.
He married Hazel Ellsworth on September 16, 1935 in Flint, MI and she preceded him in death on May 17, 2002.
Bernard worked as a meat cutter in the meat business at Flint Provision for 40 years. He was a member of the Eastside Senior Center and the Flint Travel Club. Bernard enjoyed watching sports on television, fishing, hunting and playing Euchre.
Bernard is survived by daughter, Bernadine (Walter) Faris; 5 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; many other loving family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Joan Elliott; 3 brothers and 4 sisters.
A Funeral Service will be held 1 PM Thursday, June 22, 2017 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Road, Davison, MI 48423; Rev. Harold K. Polk, Jr. officiating. Interment in Davison Cemetery. The family will receive visitors 5-8 PM Wednesday, June 21, 2017 and 12-1 PM Thursday, June 22, 2017 at Allen Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Heart to Heart Hospice or Jacob’s Ladder, in Bernard’s memory.
