Karen was an amazing, exceptional wife and mother with unending loving conversations about her husband and sons and of course LeeCee a precious granddaughter that was a dream come true. There was never a loss of conversations regarding her family, we all wanted to know the latest on Robert and Christopher to later include LeeCee which Karen delivered. She just loved talking about her family. We are so very thankful for the guidance, loyalty and commitment for these were steadfast beliefs that Karen lived daily to the fullest. To be a wife a mother and Nana to a very special granddaughter, LeeCee became an unending lifelong gift, and a sister to Maureen Katterman, JeanneMarie Ziegelman and James Richard Katterman was the beginning foundation which carried into motherhood. Becoming a nurse came naturally and this fulfillment was no surprise, it was an inherent trait, it was a given. Karen was guided by deep religious teachings of the Catholic Church living daily in God's image this was her lifelong purpose. EWTN was more than a staple it was a morning prayer and evening goodnight. Karen had numerous curiosities, always surprising others just to mention a few; racing a Camaro in Colorado (where she first met Ron), an amazing chef, fishing, jigsaw puzzles and babysitting at a very early age due to neighbors seeing the kind and gentle manner shown to others. Karen loved the holidays especially Christmas, all it represented and how it all began, the merriment aspect was over and beyond making cookies with Robert, Christopher and LeeCee was Karen's way of putting it all together. As young children growing up we had our own special goodnight. Karen would begin "I am sorry if I did anything wrong to you today" followed by each sibling. Later on it became just a simple version "Me Too" it was just another way of saying "I love you too" it is so comforting to this day. Karen will be taking care of us from above along with all the angels; Mother Angelica, St. Pio and of course all the saints in heaven. Rest In Peace our very gentle soul. Karen is survived by Ronald (husband), Robert and Christopher (sons) and Eeleceya Anne (LeeCee, granddaughter) with countless friends all over the United States.
The Mass of a Christian Burial with Father Henry Caromona, celebrant will be 11:00 A.M. on Monday, June 26, 2017 at Holy Spirit Catholic Community, St. Anthony's Chapel on North 7th Ave in Pocatello. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Downard Funeral Home, 241 North Garfield Ave., Pocatello.
