She was born to Joe and Ozell Blackburn in Troy, TX. She retired from the City of Houston Health Dept. after 29 devoted years. Mae was a dedicated member of Faith Memorial Baptist Church for 27 years. Her strength and love carried us all through the many trials of life for that we are grateful. She will be missed greatly, but never forgotten, we will hold her in our memories and closely in our hearts forever. She is preceded in death by her husband Lamar J. Johnson to whom she was married to for 52 years, her daughter Shirley Wilcox, and son-in-law Perry May. She is survived by her daughter, Tommie May; son, Michael Johnson; 5 grandchildren Terri White, Mark May, Stephanie Borowski, Stacie Halmon, and Starla Green, 15 great-grandchildren, Brian and Bethany Morris, Christopher and Corey Rodriguez, Mark, Perry, and Dylan May, Kayle and Allason Halmon, Katie, Kristin, and Makayla Schoubrock, and Alexis Jaxon and Jake Borowski; 2 great-great-grandchildren Trevor and Kendall Morris and many other cherished loved ones.
