Roberta Jean Giles, age 78, died June 4, 2017, at Montrose Memorial Hospital.
Roberta was born June 11, 1938, to John Robert and Anna (McDonnell) Arthur in Denver, Colorado. She spent her childhood in Denver and graduated from North High School in Denver. Roberta married James Giles on March 6, 1987, and he survives. She was previously married to Harold B. Moore but that marriage ended in divorce and he also preceded her in death. She moved to Montrose from the Denver area and that is where she and James have spent their retirement years.
Roberta was a caregiver many years prior to her retirement. She was a member of Saint Mary's Catholic Church and a member of Rainbow Girls. She was a past member of Eastern Star. Her pride and joy was her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Surviving family members include her husband, James Giles of the family home in Montrose; two daughters, Wendy Sue Durfee of Castle Rock, Colorado and Vicki Lyn (Alberto) Griggs of Montrose; 13 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Roberta was preceded in death by Anna Muzzy, Mary Ann Bain, Laurie Alexander and Cheryl Moore. Services are pending with Crippin Funeral Home & Crematory in Montrose.
