Sue was born the daughter of Harry Willis and Mary Gwendolyn (Roberts) Green on Saturday, October 22, 1949 in Arkansas City, Kansas. She grew up in Arkansas City, graduated from Arkansas City High School in 1967 and attended two years of Cowley College.
On April 3, 1970, Sue and James Leslie Harmon were united in marriage at First United Methodist Church in Arkansas City, Kansas. Together they celebrated 47 years of marriage.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Mary Green; sister, Patricia Wahl; brother, Robert Green; sister-in-law, Rita Green; brother-in-law, William Peters and sister-in-law, Janet Wiles.
Survivors include her husband, Jim Harmon of the home; daughter, Anne Marie Harmon Thomas and her husband Nathan of Alameda, California; son, Jason L. Harmon and his wife Jasmine of Wellington, grandchildren: Hunter Harmon, Madison Harmon of Wellington, Kansas and Zane Thomas, Fiona Thomas and Thurston Thomas of Alameda, California; nephews, Michael Cypert (Donette) of Wellington, Kansas and Gary Cypert of Canton, Oklahoma; nieces, Peggy Russell (Jeff) and Diane Crittenden (Kurk) all of Wellington, Kansas; great nieces and nephews: Dillon Cypert, Lance Russell, Marsee Hodges, Stephanie Russell, Danny Crittenden, Libby Fisch, Kristin Branam, Michael Brugada, Dane Cypert, Chelsea Strunk, Hannah Cypert and Tanner Cypert; great-great-nieces and nephews: Gracie, Taylor and Lydia Russell, Marlee, Maddox, Matilee and Maycee Hodges, Jensen Russell, Adelynn and Micah Crittenden, Parker Fisch, Skyler and Kylee Branam, Sawyer and Grayson Brugada, Kaleesie Cypert, Landon and Kenzie Strunk; sister-in-law, Patricia Peters and nephews-in-law, Michael Peters and family and Matthew Peters and family all of Amarillo, Texas; brother-in-law, Larry Wiles of Rio Rancho, New Mexico, nieces-in-law, Sandra Samp and family of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Dana Reynolds and family of Athens, Alabama and Karen Sluga and family of Rio Rancho, New Mexico.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday, June 19, 2017 with the family present from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Funeral services for Sue will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 20, 2017 at the First United Methodist Church, Wellington, Kansas.
Interment will be at the Kansas Veterans Cemetery, Winfield, Kansas.
