Jill A. Snyder, 50, passed away Thursday, December 1, 2016, at her residence with her loving family by her side.
She was the wife of Kerry Snyder, her husband of fourteen years.
Born April 27, 1966, in York Springs, Jill was the daughter of Clair "Jim" Decker and Bonnie F. Decker. She is survived by her husband Kerry; daughter, Kara; father, Clair "Jim" Decker; brother, Jeff Decker; nephew, Derrick Miller; niece, Tara Miller; three stepchildren, Josh Snyder, Amber Stower, and Brittany Nicholas; and several step-grandchildren. Jill was predeceased by her mother, Bonnie.
Jill graduated from Bermudian Springs High School in 1984. She started her working career in her sophomore year of high school at Smith's Market in York Springs and worked there for 22 years until its closure in 2005. Jill then worked at Weis Market in Gettysburg for ten years as head cashier. She had to quit in June 2016, due to a lengthy illness.
Jill was an avid, die-hard fan of the New York Yankees and the Philadelphia Eagles. She enthusiastically followed the sports career of Steve Wilbur, a local sportsman race car driver, and she was also a NASCAR fan.
The Decker family would like to express their gratitude to Jill's husband Kerry for his endless, steadfast love for her. He cared deeply for Jill during her illness. He never left her side 24/7 and fulfilled her promises and last wishes to the end. He and her daughter Kara showed their love in the care that they gave Jill every day.
The funeral service will begin at 12 noon. A luncheon will be held at the church social hall following the service and interment. Jill requested that everyone dress in casual attire.
