Ernest L. “Buck” Murphy, Jr., 84, of Bedford County, Went Home Peacefully on Saturday night, June 17, 2017.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Edith Rigsby Murphy; his brother, Bobby Murphy, three sisters, Louise, Doris and Wanda.
Buck proudly served his country in the US Air Force during Korea and Vietnam.
He was a singer and guitarist who loved country music. He also loved his Fords and Lincolns
Buck retired as a Millwright serving the Carpenter and Millwright Union local # 319.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Patricia; his son Pete Monk, three stepsons David Monk (Diane), David Monk (Melissa), Scott Monk (Melissa); grandchildren: Wayne “Bubba”, Ethan, Trace, Shay, Day, Jacob and Emily.
His family will gather with friends from 6-7 PM Wednesday, June 21, 2017 at Oakey’s Vinton chapel.
