VIRGINIA – Mass of Christian burial for Barbara L. Saari, 82, of Virginia will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Resurrection Catholic Church in Eveleth. The Rev Frank F. Perkovich will be the celebrant.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Range Funeral Home in Virginia with parish prayers at 7 p.m.
Burial will be in the Eveleth Cemetery.
Barbara (Paschke) Saari was born Dec 17, 1906, in Warsaw, North Dakota. As a small girl she attended Warsaw Country School. She married Eino Saari Aug. 20, 1932 in Grand Forks, N.D. Following marriage the couple made their home in the Grand Forks area before moving to Cherry in 1937. She moved to Virginia in 1985. She was a member of the Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Virginia and a former member of the Resurrection Catholic Church in Eveleth.
Survivors include two sisters, Susie Michalski of Argyle, Minn., and Palagia Zola of Oslo, Minn.; one half-sister, Helen Bushaw of Thief River Falls, Minn.; three granddaughters, Renee C. Anderson of Minneapolis, Connie L. Anderson, both of Robbinsdale, Minn; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Eino Jan 29 1984; one daughter, Dorothy L. Anderson in 1971, four brothers and two sisters.
