She began on the "cradle role" and was an active member at First Baptist Church, downtown Jacksonville, for 96 years. Serving others was her mission in life. While being a Sunday School Teacher of 2 year olds for over 45 years, she shared 25 of these years with four other faithful teachers in same Sunday school class. She was married for 63 years to her loving and devoted husband, Ray L. Armstrong (Deacon Emeritus of FBC). They were together until his journey home in 1999. Her life's message and love she carried throughout her life will always remain with us, but we will miss her good cooking, laughter, singing, and inspiration.
